BettyJewels started in 2004 as a way to raise money for Relay for Life. After losing our aunt and mother to breast cancer a college friend suggested I captain a Relay for Life Team. As a way to raise money for the event, my sisters and I started making jewelry. Not only was it a good fundraiser, it made us feel like we were helping in the fight against cancer.

These days BettyJewels is my creative outlet (and self therapy!) after a busy day at work or a rough day at school! I love using little trinkets I've found or refurbishing old jewelry. My materials are sterling silver, gold filled and a variety of stones, beads and charms.

I hope that my little creations find good homes with people that appreciate the uniqueness and love that went into its making.

Here is a little story about my grandmother:

"Betty was once told her daughter’s earrings were too inappropriate for school. They were too big, too sexy and too daring for that place in the 60's.
Was it a crime to be both beautiful and bold?
Certianly not!
So, armed with a fierce attitude and XL hoops Betty stormed the school office to find out what was so inappropriate about her daughters style.
The principle was not prepared for Betty and her earrings........or the reminder from her that his wife was seen from time to time wearing earrings down to HER shoulders."

It takes real talent to intimidate a grown man with earrings.
